Fireye Flame Scanners provide a variety of UV and IR flame scanners that accurately detect the presence or absence of flame in a combustion chamber and some provide both self-check and non-self check capabilities.

UV90L Series UV Flame Scanners
The UV scanner is ideally suited for gaseous fuels (natural gas & propane). However, it can be used in detecting flames from standard fuel gases, some waste gases and light oil fuels such as No. 2 oil. Flames from heavier oils can be detected with UV scanners but the unburned fuel shroud and/or atomization shroud can block the passage of the UV from the flame zone to the UV tube, causing nuisance burner/boiler trips. Infrared detection is recommended for fuel oil heavier than No. 2, and some installations where waste gases are burned together with natural gas as the main flame.
UV8A Series UV Flame Scanners
The UV8A Scanner is a 90° right-angle ultraviolet flame scanner designed for reliable flame detection. Compatible with M-Series, M-Series II, MicroM, FlameWorx, MB-2, D series controls, as well as Fireye® FLAME-MONITOR, BurnerLogix, and the Nexus System, the UV8A offers versatile integration for various burner management systems.
UV7A4, UV7A4-1-CEX & UV7R4 Flame Scanners
The UV7A4, UV7A4-1-CEX and UV7R4 are high-sensitivity ultraviolet (UV) flame scanners designed for monitoring gas or oil flames that cycle frequently. These non-self-check scanners integrate seamlessly with Fireye’s MBSERIES Multi-Burner control, SBSERIES Single Burner control, and the MBPF-100S and MB-600PF flame sensing modules, providing reliable flame detection for various industrial applications.
UV1AL Series UV Flame Scanners
The UV90AL and UV90AL-CEX are advanced ultraviolet flame scanners designed for reliable and accurate flame detection in burner and combustion systems. These versatile scanners are part of a robust series that integrates seamlessly with BurnerPRO, MBCE, and NXF4000 systems, offering enhanced performance for a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
Simplicity 65UV5 UV Flame Scanner
The 65UV5 scanner is available with a one-second or four-second flame failure response time (FFRT) depending on the model selected. The “E” versions are one-second FFRT, the non ”E” versions are four seconds FFRT. The Fireye 65UV5-1004QD and 1004EQD flame scanners provide an analog 4 to 20 mA output referenced to flame signal strength.
InSight Series 4 95S4UV & 95IRS4 Flame Scanner
The Fireye InSight® Series 4 flame scanners, including models 95UVS4 and 95IRS4, are advanced, fully microprocessor-based devices featuring solid-state ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) sensors. These integrated flame scanners eliminate the need for separate amplifiers or flame switch modules, offering streamlined installation and enhanced functionality.
InSight 95DSS2 UV & IR Flame Scanners
The Fireye InSight Type 95DSS2 flame scanners incorporate an internal flame relay with adjustable ON/OFF thresholds, thereby eliminating the need for a remote flame amplifier. All Fireye inSight scanner models are powered by 24 Vdc, have either a twelve-pin electrical quick disconnect or 10 ft. cable (“CG” models), and contain electronic self-checking (no mechanical shutter required). The scanners contain an eight-character alpha-numeric LED display and a four push-button keypad to enable the user to view operating parameters and select setpoints.
45UV5 Series UV Flame Scanners
These 45UV5 models are used only with the Flame-Monitor™, BurnerLogix™, D-Series, FlameWorx, MicroM and some P-Series Fireye control models to provide flame safeguard and monitoring systems for supervised manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic single burner boilers, process ovens and heaters.

UV5 Series UV Flame Scanners
The UV5-1 and UV5-2 are high-performance ultraviolet (UV) flame scanners designed for accurate and reliable flame monitoring in industrial and commercial burner systems. These UV scanners feature 6.5 ft. UL-rated cables, ensuring safe, efficient, and straightforward installation while meeting stringent safety and quality standards.
UV1A Series UV Flame Scanners
The UV tube is made of quartz and is filled with a gas that ionizes when struck by UV radiation from the flame. In the absence of UV radiation, the gas acts as an insulator between two electrodes that are mounted inside the tube. These electrodes are energized continuously by a high voltage. During combustion, UV radiation ionizes the gas, causing current pulses to flow between the electrodes. These current pulses result in a flame signal which is transmitted to the amplifier in the control, where it is processed to energize or hold in the flame relay.
Phoenix Series 2 85UV & 85IR Flame Scanners
The Fireye Phoenix Series 2 85UVF/IRF flame scanners are advanced, microprocessor-based devices featuring solid-state ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) sensors for precise and reliable flame detection. Engineered for high performance, these scanners include an internal flame relay with auto-adjusting ON/OFF thresholds, eliminating the need for external flame amplifiers or switches.
InSight II 95DSS3 UV & IR Flame Scanner
The Fireye InSight II flame scanners incorporate two internal flame relays with adjustable ON/OFF thresholds and two 4-20 mA analog outputs, thereby eliminating the need for a remote flame amplifier.
55UV5 Series UV Flame Scanners
55UV5 self-checking scanners are used to detect ultraviolet emissions from fossil fuel flames such as natural gas, coke oven gas, propane, methane, butane, kerosene, light petroleum distillates and diesel fuels and are suitable for use in Class I, Div. 2, Groups A, B, C, D and Class II, Div. 2 Groups F and G hazardous locations. These 55UV5 models are used only with the Flame-Monitor™, D-Series, FlameWorx and MicroM control models to provide flame safeguard and monitoring systems for supervised manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic single burner boilers, process ovens and heaters.
