IVC was established in 1969 in Edmonton Alberta as a master distributor for several critical
service valve manufacturers supporting the O&G, refining, petrochemical, P&P and mining industries.

In 2025 Summit Instrument Specialties’ merged with Inland Valve Corporation adopting the IVC name. IVC Sarnia (formerly Summit Instrument Specialties) was established in 2012 to service the Sarnia industrial market with a broad selection of pedigree valve and instrumentation product lines and services. Since its inception, IVC Sarnia has maintained extensive product inventory levels and experienced trained personnel with the ability to perform valve automation, instrument calibration and steam trap surveys.

To better serve Central and Eastern Ontario, in 2020 IVC (formerly SIS) added a facility in
Oakville Ontario with additional qualified staff, product lines, inventory and increased
assembly/modification/testing capabilities.
